Why this matters

By providing your input, we can better advocate and represent your interests. Please complete all 3 steps so we can advocate on these topics.

We will be presenting the results to tourism decision makers, polticans and land managers.

We will start this advocacy in February 2025 at the Tourism Advocacy Summit, where the OCC is speaking on a panel. Decision makers like numbers. This is why we need your input!

1. Parks alignment

We want to demonstrate to National and Provincial parks that guides (you!) are an important part of the solution to sustainable visitor management.

2. Quantifying the issue

We want to understand the barriers that you experience in parks. This information will be used to engage with decision makers in provincial and federal levels so they understand the challenges that guides face. With this information, we will work to implement solutions that benefit you and parks.

3. Finding solutions

This section is where guides, guiding businesses and outdoor professionals (you) shape the plan moving forward. We want to hear your ideas and solutions to current access issues. We cannot promise that these solutions will be implemented, but they will guide and inform our advocacy.

As those leading the way on the trail, you have the deepest understanding of the realities and challenges involved. We want to hear from you on what could work to balance economic viability, environmental stewardship and quality visitor experiences.

Step 1: Parks alignment

We want to demonstrate that guides are part of the solution for effective visitor management. Help us by sharing how guides on the trail ensures visitors can enjoy our natural spaces respectfully and safely.

Step 2: Quantifying barriers
